PRshots.com media testimonials
Please take a minute to read what the journalists and picture editors who use PRshots.com every day have to say about us...
UK national media

PRshots.com is great for saving the day with last minute deadlines when journalists simply don't have the time to try and chase things through PR companies and would rather chase up images themselves. It saves on time and stress. The more variety and images the better as it gives us more choice.
Tiffany Hancock, Features Writer, The Daily Telegraph

I'm always pleased when new companies join your client list – I could
name lots more I'd like to see there. It's such a time saver to be able
to download quality images without having to make several calls or send
several emails. I used 15 images from your site in the last issue of The
Wedding Planner, some even full page. There's never a problem with
format, either, which sometimes happens even with images sent by PRs
from the largest national companies.
Heidi Best, Freelance Journalist and Editor, FT, Sunday Times, Express,
Scotsman, Good Housekeeping, Country Homes & Interiors

PRshots.com is hugely useful when working on a tight deadline. The images are all catalogued really well and are of a high resolution, which is ideal for our picture desk. The service cuts out the frustration of chasing up PRs for images and the extensive caption information provided is also useful. I would find it helpful if more companies took up the service.
Louise Compton, Features Writer, The Sun Online

PRshots.com is the way forward when it comes to not only the choice of companies to download from but also that you can use it 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Sometimes images are needed at the last minute or after PR companies have gone home. This makes PRshots.com a first port of call and the companies on there get better coverage due to the fact they are readily available. The website is also a good way to catch up on what is current in the homes and fashion market at the touch of a button. If more companies were listed on this site it would make journalism a lot easier and those companies would get coverage.
Angela Macfarlane, Freelance Homes Stylist, Sunday Mirror

I always go to PRshots.com first
Deborah Arthurs, Staff Journalist, Daily Mail
UK consumer media

PRshots.com is such a vital tool in helping us compile our pages. It's great for last minute deadlines and saves lot of time getting products shot. It's great to have all these great brands on one site to choose from and we use the site nearly everyday.
Natasha Guiotto, Fashion Assistant, COSMOPOLITAN

I am a regular user of PRshots.com and regularly browse the site to see
what has been added. I find it particularly useful as I work to tight
deadlines and having all the images and information in one place where I
can download it myself is tremendously useful and saves plenty of phone
calls and e-mails. I've never encountered any real problems with the
site, only occasionally some of the caption details aren't in place,
which is a pain. It would certainly be great news to see any new
companies joining up.
Katie Williams, Lifestyle Editor, Hello Magazine

If only more companies would come on board with PRshots.com; it would
make life much easier for everyone. Much time is spent requesting images
then countless calls chasing the company's PR like mad only to find a
week later the image that arrives is to small to use! The result is I
have to use another company – more often than not one of the original
company's slightly more organised competitors. Thank you to those
companies that have gone to the trouble to list images with PRshots.com.
Helping me save time is much appreciated and I hope you enjoy the
national coverage your products receive as a result. One thing that
would be handy would be more cut out shots - I can never have enough of
them available. Look forward to seeing more companies on PRshots.com
soon.
Sophie Warren-Smith, Freelance Writer, House Beautiful and BBC Good Homes

PRshots.com is an essential resource for any journalist, especially in
the home interest and fashion sector. It's great when you need that
last-minute high resolution JPEG or TIFF; ideal for when you're working
out of hours and can't get hold of the PR in person. I have been using
it for years and have never encountered any problems - the only one
being that more companies should make use of it. Keep up the good work.
Hayley Gilbert (freelance interiors journalist) House Beautiful, Ideal Home, 25 Beautiful Kitchens

The reason PRshots.com is so useful is that it allows journalists to
quickly assess images in order to decide whether or not they are
suitable for inclusion in a feature. The alternative is looking through
catalogues and choosing the appropriate image from the pages in front of
us. This is a much more time consuming process and it means that if we
are pressed for time (which is often the case) we will only be able to
look at what is currently in the office. Further difficulties can also
arise because we have no way of knowing whether or not the image we want
from the brochure is available or of a good enough quality. If the
image is for a full page spread we may then have to wait for a disc to
be posted to us because the file is too big to be emailed. All this
takes time and means that if we are in a hurry our first point of call
is likely to be PRshots.com. And it's not just our time that get wasted
either. Some companies spend a lot of effort looking for images, only to
later discover that they are the wrong size or format. There are also
some companies that are extremely slow at getting images and information
across to us. Obviously we remember who is efficient and who is not,
and this will mean that the closer we get to deadline the more likely we
are to avoid some companies because experience tells us that they won't
be able to get anything to us in time. This is not necessarily their
fault, as many of them are extremely busy, but if their images are on
PRshots.com it won't be a problem at all. I understand that some
companies do not want to lose control of the coverage they get, but
there is a danger that they may miss out on some features altogether
because we couldn't get hold of them.
Alex Williams, News Editor, Period Ideas

Discovering PRshots.com has completely revolutionized the way we work at
Surrey Life! Whereas before, we'd be hunting around for relevant
product shots for hours, we can now find great pictures at the touch of a
button! Plus, if we ever need any help with more information, the guys
there are super-helpful and brilliant at getting back to us quickly. I
have no hesitation in recommending this brilliant resource."
Caroline Harrap, Editor, Surrey Life

I've only recently started using PRshots.com and love it! I can't
believe more companies don't jump at the chance of being a part of
PRshots.com. For compiling news pieces, features it makes life so simple
and quick! I urge the PR world to get involved!
Richard Evans, Fashion/Grooming Editor, FRONT Magazine
UK regional media

I am more than happy to extol the virtues of PRshots.com, in fact I
don't know what I would do without it! I put together weekly fashion
spreads for the Aberdeen Evening Express, and PRshots.com is always my
first stop. I am more likely to feature companies listed on the site
before anyone else. It's also somewhere I can browse for ideas. Purely
by having so many retailers side by side, it's easier for me to identify
trends to write about, than if I am trawling various websites or
delving through the mountain of catalogues in the office. Sourcing
pictures from PR companies isn't always reliable. They can't appreciate
when a deadline is looming: sometimes the picture is in the wrong
format; sometimes it's the wrong size and sometimes they plain just
don't get back to you! I only wish more companies were listed with
PRshots.com. It makes it easier for us to promote them, so everybody
wins.
Marie-Claire Jones, Features Writer, Aberdeen Evening Express

PRshots.com is the best source I know for image supply and is invaluable.
Judith Cole, Staff Journalist, Belfast Telegraph

PRshots.com really has changed my life with just one click. No more do I
have to keep phoning a firm in vain hoping that a press or marketing
person will return my call and deliver the images I want in time (and in
the right format) for my deadline. At first I thought it was too much
of a good thing. I mean free downloading of products from top High
Street stores and manufacturers - that doesn't happen, even on their own
websites. But it does with you guys. In fact Hayter garden machineries
first directed me to your website and I was so excited when I realised
what a really useful resource library PRshots.com is. I thought there
would be restrictions on using the images but after talking to you, you
kindly assured me that I was free to peruse the pages and download at
will. I was like a kid in a candy store when your website helped me
produce a special Christmas gift magazine. Thank you.
Rachel Wakefield, Commercial Features and Magazine Editor for the Free
Press & Times group, part of Newsquest Buckinghamshire & West
London, covering The Bucks Free Press, Bucks Free Press Midweek, Bucks
Limited Edition, South Bucks Star, The Hillingdon & Uxbridge Times
and The Ealing Times.

As a regional features editor, I find PRshots.com an invaluable service.
What PR companies often fail to recognise is just how under resourced
newspapers are, especially in the regional and local press. Time and
staff are always at a premium, which means we are forced to source
information and pictures as quickly and efficiently as possible. The
bottom line of this when it comes to consumer/fashion/interiors pages is
that, if your products are on PRshots.com, we will probably use them.
If they're not, we probably won't! We just don't have time to spend
sending emails requesting hi-res pics from disparate PR companies - like
demanding children, we want the world and we want it now, so if copy
and pics are available to download from the web from the same source,
that's what we'll go for. And more often than not, that means
PRshots.com, which is the best in the business.
Paul Kirkley, Features Editor, Cambridge Evening News

Composing both one-off features and our regular 'Arcadian' section for
Country & Border Life magazine, we often need (and depend upon) high
quality commercial images. We have found PRshots.com can often provide
exactly the photographs required through a very user-friendly website.
The size of the images are large enough never to restrict our designs
and it's so much better than chasing CDs in the post that may or may not
arrive after the all-too-common offerings of unsuitable 72dpi
thumbnails! It's safe to say that if companies wisely choose PRshots.com
as a platform to provide images they are much, much more than likely to
get free coverage in our publication!
Natalie Florey & Tristan King, Design Dept., Country & Border Life magazine

A few words regarding PRshots.com and how it always saves the day! As a
journalist we are constantly bombarded by images through the post or by
emails, but so often these images don't fit the topic, or aren't of a
high enough quality. This is when PRshots.com comes through for us, time
and time again. I co-edit a magazine called Dorset Society, and each
month we have dedicated sections like fashion, beauty, home and garden.
As soon as we plan the pages for the next issue, I go straight to
PRshots.com as I know its fast, simple and the images are fantastic. To
be honest, because of PRshots' professionalism, the companies who use
this service often cover our editorial pages. It's THE best service
available. Others have tried a similar approach, but they become far too
complicated, and obtaining the images is impossible. Since discovering
PRshots.com, my life has become so much easier. If I need an extra image
to fill a gap, I will go to the site, it just makes approaching
deadlines seems less frightening! They provide the most efficient
service I know. We need more companies to get involved and then they too
will get free editorial space!

I do find PRshots.com really useful (the Topshop download this morning
will be featured as the front page of our magazine in two weeks!) I only
wish more fashion companies would use you! EAWeek is the colour
supplement within the East Anglian Daily Times on Saturdays, currently a
72-pages lifestyle mag!
Victoria Hawkins, Editor EA Week, East Anglian Daily Times

I love PRshots.com - it's a quick page filler that needs the minimum of
effort. I can download straight into our database which saves time. The
pictures are always excellent quality and are good enough for our
covers. I'd like to see more companies using this service. It makes
journalists' lives a lot easier and that is half the battle if you're
trying to get editorial space for a client. I don't need to make endless
phone calls explaining who we are and what we do. The images are just
there.
Debbie Eales, Editor, Kent Messenger Group

Why does PRshots.com work? The truth is that journalists don't have
unlimited time to put features together and sourcing photos is one of
the biggest problems we have. We simply don't have the time or resources
to contact a different press office or PR firm for every picture we
need – it's far easier to have all the available photos there in front
of us so that we can just pick and choose what we need, download it at
high resolution with all the information needed, and all within seconds.
Using traditional methods (phoning up a press office, describing what
we need, getting the photos e-mailed or posted) takes several minutes
per picture; minutes we don't have, which in turn means that if a firm
isn't signed up to PRshots.com the chance of us using their photos is
pretty slim. So many companies are now signed up to PRshots.com that we
rarely have to look elsewhere for photos. Most firms still use the
traditional route of sending out press packs with photos but, sadly, we
just don't have the space to store all of these. PRshots.com staff are
really helpful and not once have I ever had trouble downloading photos
from the site. The bottom line is that I use PRshots.com, on average,
every other day and companies that are on the site are always top of the
list for inclusion in our features. All we need now is more companies
to sign up so that we can give them a chance of getting some free
publicity too! Thanks for coming up with such a great idea, PRshots.com!
Liz Payne, Assistant Chief Sub Editor, Lancashire Evening Post

As a commercial journalist I'll often have to source images for a wide
range of general articles on anything from winter fashions to styles and
colours for your kitchen. PRshots.com is always my first port of call.
There really is no other similar resource that I am aware of on the
internet. Fee free downloadable images are almost impossible to find on
the net. Some retailers do have press areas of their site where limited
image downloads are available, but it would be so much easier for these
retailers to make their images available in one central location. I've
noticed that PRshots.com has expanded its picture stock and it is very
good for fashion pics, but it would be so much more useful if it covered
many more areas. Our commercial remit covers such a huge amount of
subjects: cars, property, restaurants, big business, glazing, home
design, fashion, high-street retail and more. Obviously saving time and
money when sourcing images is of great importance so if we could rely on
one resource for the majority of our image needs that would be
fantastic.
Paul Baker, Commercial Feature Writer, Trinity Mirror Merseyside, Liverpool Daily Post & Echo

My only complaint about PRshots.com is that more companies aren't signed
up to it yet! Working on a fashion desk for a daily regional paper is a
busy job to say the least. Naturally, being a newspaper, we like our
fashion features to be as timely as possible when it comes to news
stories, etc. This means an extremely quick turnaround when it comes to
fashion spreads or lifestyle pieces of hours or even minutes. Given
those time constraints, we rarely have the luxury of setting up photo
shoots and need to source images as quickly and easily as possible.
Ringing round PR offices or trawling through press packs can be
extremely time-consuming. PRshots.com, on the other hand, has been a
godsend. Images are available at the click of a button and are just the
right style and quality for us to use in our recently redesigned fashion
pages. With so many companies registered, it makes sourcing pictures
for an entire spread really easy and means you rarely have to resort to
press packs or trawling around other sites. The format is easy to follow
and all the information you need in terms of price is always to hand.
Now I would just like all the major chains to sign up so that we can
find their images more often!
Helen Tither, Women's Editor, Manchester Evening News

I do want to say that I absolutely love PRshots.com! It is simply
indispensible for me. Working on a daily paper with tight deadlines, it
is great to be able to access pictures speedily and to be able to see
exactly what I am getting before I download them. I also find that
PRshots.com generates ideas for features - for instance, if I see that a
number of shoe companies are posting pictures on the site I know that I
will easily be able to pull together a feature on footwear that I might
not have considered doing otherwise. I am pleased to see that it is
expanding all the time. It would be nice to see more cut outs and other
areas covered especially beauty. Keep up the good work!
Nancy Martin, Feature Writer, Norwich Evening News

I am pleased to recommend PRshots.com, which I have used – and found
invaluable – for years. It is the first place I look for images, and
often inspiration, when planning a product/fashion spread. Sourcing good
quality, clear product and lifestyle shots at high resolution for
fashion and features spreads, is not as easy as it sounds. You'd think,
with millions of companies competing for coverage in the press, that
promotions departments would be falling over themselves to get in on the
act. Yet any features journalist will agree that the process of chasing
companies, first to get an image, and finally to get it in the right
format and resolution, to your desktop, is frequently frustrating and
often ends in the feeling of ‘well, if they don't want to promote
themselves…' Using PRshots.com, on the other hand, is hassle-free and I
use it constantly. Working as a journalist does mean meeting deadlines,
so being able to call up a web page and download a hi-res and
(importantly) up-to-date image in seconds makes meeting those so much
easier. Or if, for example, ads are dropped or an issue goes up in size
at the last minute and there is space to fill, PRshots.com gives
immediate access to companies with great images for use instantly. Look
books and promotional brochures that we're sent are always beautifully
presented and give editors a real feel for a collection or product. But
they do inevitably end up in the filing system with hundreds of other
releases, to be rooted through ‘as and when'. Being able to access shots
online is more appealing and takes much less time. When putting
together a fashion shoot I sometimes borrow items from the main high
street stores and the feedback I get from staff in store, after I've
featured their product shots, is great. They have often had several
requests for an item that has been included in a product spread. Proof
that this kind of editorial placement is as good as, if not better than,
paid advertising. It is no coincidence that the companies I have
featured most this year – Debenhams, Accessorize/Monsoon, Evans, Dorothy
Perkins, River Island, to name just a few – are all included on
PRshots.com. But I am always on the look out for new companies to
feature on my pages and I often wonder why more organisations aren't
involved in the site. Not only would it raise their profile but it would
help us journos to keep our pages fresh and interesting.
Dawn Donaghey, Features Editor, Post Plus

I am more than happy to endorse PRshots.com, it is the best thing that a
lifestyle journalist can dream of. I periodically need a wide variety
of high res images covering the contemporary British fashion scene, and
Interior design, and PRshots.com not only provides this variety, at the
click of a finger 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, but it is so easy to
use, too. Put simply, it ticks all the right boxes. I am not just happy
with it, I am also very grateful. Thank you.

I am a huge fan of PRshots.com as it allows 24 hour access to great
quality, up-to-the-minute images from some of the biggest names in
fashion and home. I love the fact that I can access the site at any
time, browse though a range of images and pick the ones that meet my
needs, without having to go through a PR company or press person which
can take ages! The site is quick and easy to navigate – a true godsend
for a busy editor.
Tara Craig, Editor, Ireland's Wedding Journal

PRshots.com is probably the most useful and efficient tool at my
disposal since the onset of broadband. Being able to access up-to-the-
minute items at any time night or day with guaranteed resolution and
quality is an absolute godsend. With some of the stores now giving
prices in euros, it cuts out the need for constant calls back and forth
to pr companies (it would be great if more followed suit!). It has made
styling and compiling features much easier, I can't recommend it enough.
Emer McCarthy, Production Manager Irish Brides Magazine

Your clients often get more coverage than many others as their images
are accessible to me 24-7, whether I am working from home or in a
publisher's office.
Jillian Bolger, Editor, Irish Tatler

Well done it is a great site and building all the time! With the huge
expense of shooting products being able to obtain good quality images at the
correct resolution for print makes this website an important time and cost
saving asset.
Especially for people like me who have very little time, money and er
....computer skills it seems.
Thanks for your help
Caroline Jeffrey, It's Fate Magazine - IPC

PRshots.com is a lifesaver!! I just wish more stores would put images on it. Working on a weekly magazine we always need last minute pictures and it makes everything so much easier. The high-res, still life shots are exactly the style of images we use in the magazine, so it's perfect for us. The prices, home page of the company, which season the items are for, and all the details I need to go with the images are right there. The search engine is easy to use and the products are easy to find. After using PRshots.com for a few months now, I don't know how I ever survived without it!
Emma Segal, Lifestyle Writer, Closer magazine
If I download an image it is because I am definitely going to use it. PRshots.com makes my job/ life so much easier.
Sarah Jane Smith, Staff Journalist, Closer Magazine

I am delighted to provide a testimonial for PRshots.com. My role as Fashion Editor at handbag.com means I am constantly searching for images to support features or run as product-led photo galleries. The great thing about PRshots.com is that it provides a truly fantastic one-stop picture library where I can access a huge cross-section of relevant images at the touch of a button. There are alternatives, but I genuinely feel PRshots.com is the best solution. We can look through look-books and contact PR departments to ask for images (which is incredibly time-consuming, and often takes a couple of calls if the photo comes in the wrong format or without captions) or screen grab images from websites (which is only viable if the images are big enough to reproduce – and of a good enough quality). PR companies are getting increasingly image savvy and are sending out discs with their collections on – but even then images can sometimes take a long time to load up, or have been known to crash systems or get lost amongst press packs. A few sites have press sections where it's possible to download images – but it would make it so much easier if the pictures were all available at one resource. And… last but not least, it's better for the environment if all this information is sourced and stored electronically. I try to feature products from a wide variety of retailers but it's fair to say that my first port of call will usually be PRshots.com. With Debenhams, Oasis, and The Arcadia Group on board, there is a great selection of shots for trend-led and product-led stories. I only hope more fashion retailers sign up – surely it's a win-win situation? Then I'll have more choice and the brands will get more coverage too. The last point I'd like to make is that PRshots.com is a free service for journalists. Press shots are free on the whole, but lifestyle shots are often sourced from paid-for picture libraries. For this reason I am constantly telling my colleagues that work across all sections of our site about PRshots.com. So the bigger PRshots.com gets, the better!
Vanessa Barford, Fashion Editor, handbag.com

I find the service really usefully - particularly having many brands all under one roof. It's really simple to use, reliable and is a great way to get images in a hurry.
Jordan Paramor, Associate Editor (features), Heat Magazine, EMAP
